The MF1 admins wanted to run Fuji this week to stay in line with F1 running Suzuka. We would have ran Suzuka but we pretty much have ran it every MF1 season so we wanted to give Fuji some love this season. :silly:

Here is a Senna Suzuka video that if you have not seen before is quite something!

Qualy, i put in a lap, thought i had mike covered, then didnt push anymore. Dry line started forming, he used it well, and put in a stunner. Great work there.

Race, i started well, maintained p2, took Marcus into 1, but ended up making contact and riding the kerb, so i had to let everyone go before i could go on, (some people should learn from this) then had to pass pretty much everyone to get back up, had a hard time getting past Vladimir, got around him, then i spun, then i got him again. Continued trying to catch the top guys, but i lost too much time behind vlad. Lost track of time, then i realized i should pit. Was catching Morten, he spun near the end, and i managed to take him into t1, but he got it back in t2, great battling there, clean and aggressive. Then he rode the kerb out of the penultimate turn, and i managed to take him and pull away slightly so he couldn't catch me on the main straight.

Great comeback drive after all. Fastest lap and last podium step is a good consolation.

Well I cannot say that I am not disappointed to lose by such a small margin, but that is how lady luck treats you sometimes! I made two mistakes, and one was very costly on the penultimate lap. What an amazing run by BD. Our fifth winner in our fifth Grand Prix this season!!!!

I am totally happy with qualifying. Murray Walker would have said, "That was a stunner!"

For the first time this season, I had cars in front of me on the grid.. With very few laps of practice under my belt before the qualifying, I just tried to stay focused and keep the car on the track and get a respectable time.. At the start, it was a bit hairy into turn 1, but I managed to make it through unharmed.. I quickly moved to p3, and when Marcus made contact with the back of Manuel's Sauber, I was able to slip past both to take the lead.. Knowing I had neither the speed or knowledge of the track to push the car hard, I moved aside a few laps later and let Mike through in his Ferrari, hoping to catch some glimpses of his lines through the corners to hopefully improve my own pace.. Morten caught me a few laps later, and we proceeded to have an absolutely awesome duel.. After running behind Morten for some time, I found a few tricks to gain some time, and was able to use those to get around Morten.. This would be absolutely key when Mike pitted..

When Mike peeled off to make his pit stop, my tires weren't too bad, and with a steady but mild rain still falling, I decided that with my slower than normal pace and running in the lead, I just MIGHT be able to make the tires last the distance.. I knew that Mike would probably catch me in the last few laps, but a podium might be possible if I could hang on.. As the laps dwindled, Mike began taking huge chunks of time out of my lead, as much as 2+ seconds per lap at some points.. Unfortunately for Mike, he made a small mistake coming out of the final corner to begin the final lap, and that cost him 1.3 seconds.. I tried to remain as focused as I could and as smooth as I could, knowing that my tires were simply shot.. As we got to the 3rd sector, admittedly where I was losing the most time, I could see Mike in my mirrors, but more importantly for me, two lapped cars between us.. Mike was held up just slightly by those lapped cars, and the drag race out of the final corner was intense.. I could see the scarlet red Ferrari breathing down my neck, getting larger and larger by the moment in my mirrors.. With a margin of victory of only .113 seconds, it was an amazing race, an amazing finish..

For the first time this season, I didn't have one of the fastest cars on the track, but I was able to work the strategy to get the maximum points..
